"Mississippi State is a very good ballclub. They are playing well together. That is what I told Rick (Stansbury) after the game. I congratulated him on what a fine job he is doing."
His team's 21 turnovers.
"When you give up 20 points off of turnovers in the first half and 35 for the game, it is hard to win at home or away. We did not value the ball very well. We gave them too many opportunities in transition and couldn't really get our defense set."
His team's performance in the second half.
"We just kind of wore down a little bit and (Roberts) was able to get good inside position. And it was hard to handle him in there. With (Winsome) Frazier hitting the outside shots and Roberts inside and you turn the ball over, it is pretty difficult to even keep the score close."
Were your turnovers forced or was it that you just didn't handle the ball that well?
"I think some were forced. They did a really good job of applying pressure on our big guys. We were trying to run our offense through some of the post guys and they put a lot of pressure on them. I think sometimes we dribble baseline and we didn't make good decisions and kind of just threw the ball away. But most of them were due to Mississippi State."
How would you compare this Mississippi State team to Kentucky and Louisville, two teams you just played?
"They are right up there with them. I don't know if they are quite a deep but, I tell you what, 1 through 7, they are just as good. Lawrence Roberts, it is amazing how much he has improved. I remember I was recruiting him for Tulsa and lost him to Baylor. When Frazier is hitting those shots, he is tough. (Shane) Power is one of the better passes. (Gary) Ervin is fast. (Marcus) Campbell has improved his game. They all just complement each other very well. Mississippi State is 1 second away from being undefeated, 1 second. 11th team in the country, they are deserving, maybe higher. Can you go with 7 (players)? I think you can. I have been on teams with 5 (players)."
