Talk about your visit to Mississippi State.
"It was incredible. My parents and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a great place, very homelike down there. It is something that we are looking for. Everybody was very friendly. It was a great experience for me and my parents."
When did Mississippi State get involved in your recruitment?
"Two and a half weeks ago. This is a pretty down to the wire situation."
How did they find out about you?
"We had talked to them earlier. They knew my situation about my being highly overlooked. I only threw the ball 13 times a game, so my stats aren't as good as the guys who throw a lot more per game. They took that into consideration. Coach Croom is going to run the Green Bay Packers West Coast offense and they are looking for a big guy that is mobile and can run it. Coach Croom really evaluated my tapes and then contacted me. They said I was that guy. We talked about three times a week. (Coach) Shane Beamer came to our house about a week and a half ago. He is our recruiting coach. We talk almost every other night. He is an awesome guy and is Frank Beamer's son (head coach of Virginia Tech)."
You talked a little about Coach Croom. What were your impressions of him?
"Oh, I fell in love with him. He is such a down to earth guy and is so personable. Immediately when we got there, he took us in his office and sat down and started talking about his history. He is one of those guys that has so much wisdom of the game that, when he starts talking, you are totally glued in. I have the utmost respect for him. My parents really like him."
What surprised me about you is how well you ran the ball. Considering how big you are, that is impressive.
"Yes sir, I had 850 yards rushing (13 touchdowns). That is one thing I love to do, run the ball. I run a 4.63 forty, which is not that bad for someone 6-5, 210."
What other schools are you visiting?
"We are visiting Miami of Ohio this weekend. I have narrowed my choices down to these two schools, Miami of Ohio and Mississippi State. I will probably make my decision by Sunday night or Monday afternoon."
