Was there any one thing that sold you on Mississippi State?
"It is a great college town with a family atmosphere. It is a place where any up and coming athlete can come in and make a name for himself. I love everything about Mississippi State. Coach (Shane) Beamer is a real good guy."
When do you expect to report to Mississippi State, the summer or the fall?
"In July. "
Are you currently participating in any other sports in high school?
What do you think will be the biggest adjustment between high school football and college football?
"Well, the biggest adjustment will probably be being away from my family."
Was there any one humorous or unusual thing that happened during your recruitment?
"It has almost been stressful with all the coaches calling you. Night in, night out, coaches called, especially the last two weeks. They don't really say it, but it's almost like they are saying come here. It's a great experience, but, at the same time, it can get on your nerves."
What are your hobbies?
"I like shopping. I'm a shoe guy."
Who has been the most influential person in your life? If more than one, you can mention them all.
"I've got a few people. My mom because I have to do good for my mom. My brother. I have to do good for him because he is a freshman in high school playing football. He is looking at me because I am going to Mississippi State and playing in the SEC. I always want to set a good example for him because I want him to be good citizen. My three uncles - Andrew, Craig and Keith Young. They have supported me since I started playing football when I was six or seven. They were part of my decision (to sign with MSU). Everybody thought Mississippi State was the best place (for me). My coach, Coach Jimmerson, has been a real big help getting my name out there to all the schools."
What colleges did you officially visit and did you turn any other visit offers down?
"I visited Texas Tech, Arkansas, Mississippi State and Northeastern State University. I took an unofficial visit to OSU (Oklahoma State) and OU (Oklahoma) because they are right around the corner. I turned down a visit to Tennessee."
What colleges offered you a scholarship?
"Mississippi State, Texas Tech, Tennessee and Arkansas. And Kansas offered me about two or three days before signing day."
Has the internet been a source of information for you during your recruitment?
"Not really, because some of the information was inaccurate. In some cases, I wasn't even listed, and in other cases, I was listed as a two-star."
