Class of 2005 Prospect - MS DT Demarcus Willis

Demarcus Willis proved he is a player to watch in Mississippi this coming season after earning All-Region 3-2A and All-Area honors at the conclusion of his junior season.

A starter for Drew High School since the 9th grade, Demarcus led his team in tackles and sacks this past season.

Teams have already taken notice of this quite and unassuming player who has a chance to be one of Mississippi's best.

According to Demarcus, he has received letters from, "Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Southern Miss, Nebraska, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Colorado and West Virginia. Arkansas has sent me the most letters."

Although he doesn't have a top five list of colleges at the moment, he did tell me he is a fan of a few schools.

"I like LSU, USC (Southern Cal) and Oklahoma," said Demarcus, a 3.0 student in the classroom. "They have a good offense and I like their style of defense. It's more like a box defense and that is what we run."

With an invitation to the Texas A&M football camp already in hand, Demarcus (6-2, 270, 4.9) is waiting to decide which college football camps he will attend this summer.

Stay tuned for more information on a rising star in the Mississippi Delta, a region known for producing some of the best players in the state of Mississippi.
