Class of 2005 Prospect - MS DE/WR Javon Williams

Javon Williams (Bay HS, 6-foot-4, 215, 4.8) is one of Mississippi's top defensive end prospects for the upcoming 2004 season. After recording 81 tackles (67 solos) and 10 sacks this past season, Javon earned All-District and All-Seacoast honors. Doing double duty at wide receiver for his team, Javon also caught 22 passes for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Javon Williams Profile:

Javon, who attended high school in California his sophomore year, didn't attend any summer camps last year, although he did visit a couple of college campuses, UCLA and USC, while he was in California. In fact, one of those schools was impressed enough to take notice of Javon.

"UCLA is the main one sending me letters right now," said Javon.

Although he didn't participate in any summer camps last year, he and his teammate, Lorenzo Lewis, will be attending several team and individual camps this coming summer, although they aren't sure which ones.

As for schools that Javon is interested in, he is looking at schools as far away as California and as close as Mississippi and Lousiana.

"UCLA would be the first school because they have shown the most interest," said Javon. "I also like USC, Arkansas, Florida State, LSU, Mississippi State and Ole Miss."

Although not very well known by most colleges recruiters because he has moved back and forth between Mississippi and California the past three seasons, look for this 16-year old's stock to rise as he attends college football camps this coming summer.
