Student M-Club assists local grade school readers
Student M-Club president and soccer player Samantha Schwenke and various sport student-athletes will be at Overstreet between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to participate in the reading and activities program. The MSU organization has collected $255 and 170 books from the Student Association, faculty and staff members, and M-Club athletes in support of the endeavor, which is geared toward encouraging reading among young elementary school students. Overstreet students will rotate through a series of different stations highlighting the writing career of Theodor Geisel, author of the Dr. Seuss series of books. Each child will be presented with one of the donated books to read as a gift from the M-Club when they reach the 'Happy Birthday To You' station. The Student M-Club volunteers its members for major community service projects during the school year.
