The last time we talked you had officially visited Mississippi State and Georgetown. What has happened since then as far as recruiting is concerned?
"I haven't visited anyone else. I've been focusing on the season and trying to get through it. Fortunately, we were conference champs for the Jayhawk West but we lost in the regional semifinals. We lost to Barton County in the semifinals and had to win our regional to go to the nationals."
What schools other than MSU and Georgetown are showing interest in you?
"Georgia Tech is still showing a lot of interest and Oklahoma State has also been showing a lot of interest. Alabama has also."
Are there any others that have shown interest in you?
"There have been a lot of newer schools that have recently started to recruit me. It is amazing to me that these schools want me. These schools are pretty big-name schools, schools like Indiana, Arizona, North Carolina. I talked to them about a month ago and all have offered (scholarships)."
What schools have offered scholarships?
"Pretty much everyone (above). I have also talked to Florida but they don't know if they have a scholarship."
In your email you wrote that you are having a difficult time figuring out what other schools you will visit. Since you still have three visits left, you could actually visit all three schools.
"That's true. But, the problem is a couple of them are still in the tournament. I wanted to get it done by the 15th (of April), but it doesn't seem like it is going to happen."
What do you like about each of the schools that you have mentioned?
"Oklahoma State's Coach Sutton has pretty good tradition. He has done a good job running the program. And they are going to need a big man next year. I like Georgia Tech's style of play. I like how they get up and down the court. They will be needing a big man, also. Georgetown is probably the school most in need of a big man. And they are Big Man U. Mississippi State, somewhat the same thing: They produce big men and they get up and down the floor."
Did you keep up with Mississippi State during the season?
"I tried to but I didn't get to watch a lot of their games because we were playing. But, I tried to keep up with them when I got back to my room. I checked on them on ESPN or Yahoo Sports and see who did what."
Has Mississippi State kept up with you and are they showing about the same amount of interest in you as they did when they brought you in for a visit?
"Yes sir. As a matter of fact, they called me right before they went to the Xavier game."
What do they say they like about you?
"They like the way I can get up and down the floor and my defensive presence. They see a lot of potential in me."
Has it impressed it how consistent Mississippi State has been with their recruitment of you?
"Yeah, since the start of my recruitment, it has surprised me somewhat. They have been pretty consistent."
Where would you say Mississippi State is on your recruiting list?
"They are still up there. They are still a school that I am considering. Like I said, they are going to have a need for a big man. And the way they play, I would fit in pretty well."
Will it make any difference to you if State's Lawrence Roberts leaves or stays at State?
"It's hard to say. It really depends on who else will be there, who they bring in besides me and what their roles will be."
Are schools recruiting you as a center or power forward?
"A lot of schools are saying they don't like to call it a center position because they just want to play me in the post. You can say it is kind of like a power forward/center. I like the power forward position so that I can face up and take it to the basket."
When will you make your decision?
"After I take my last visit, that's when I will know who I am going to sign with."
