Offensive Tackle Donovan Davis

Gene's Page did a quick interview with sophomore offensive tackle Donovan Davis a few days ago. Donovan talked Coach Croom, where he stands on the depth chart and what his position coach, Coach Grimes, thinks he does well and things he needs to improve.

Donovan Davis Profile

Talk about your experience under Coach Croom, so far.
"So far, Coach Croom has been a real hands on coach. If something goes wrong, he immediately steps in and expresses his displeasure with it. But he does the same thing when we do something good. He has been what everybody has made him out to be."

Has he been everything that you would want in a coach?
"Yes sir, so far, except for him being sick. He hasn't been able to be as active as he wants to be."

Where do you currently stand on the depth chart?
"I'm second string right now. That's up to (offensive line) Coach Grimes, Coach McCorvey and Coach Croom. They do the decision making. And I participate whenever I can."

What has Coach Grimes said he likes about you as a player and what are some things he wants you to improve on?
"He likes my aggressiveness and the way I catch on to the game and how things come not so difficult to me. The things I need to work on the most are my hand placement and pad level. That's something I hope to improve during the spring."
