"(Our people) went and found the facts and did a very good job of preparing our report. While I wasn't involved in all of the interviews, I was involved in some things and I am certainly very comfortable with the position that we have taken."
Was hurrying up and getting this over with ever a factor or was it more just taking your time and getting all your facts together before responding?
"It has never been our position that we wanted to hurry. We have taken our time. And in fairness to the NCAA, they have been very cooperative with us on the timetable. So, I have no qualms with them about that. We went about getting our response ready at the timetable that we said we were going to have it ready. We submitted it and look forward to our June 11th opportunity to meet the committee face to face."
What is the next step in the process, the June hearing?
"That is the next official step."
Will the NCAA let you know what their findings are in about 6 to 8 weeks?
"That is their timetable. There is a requirement of a certain number of days but if they want 9 weeks, they can certainly take it."
Based on that, other than the results that are reached, this investigation should be put to end at that time.
"We would hope that, but there's no timetable."
How does this investigation compare to the previous MSU investigation a few years ago?
"There is no comparison."
What were the differences?
"I would rather not talk about specifics of the two cases."
Have some preventive measures been put in place due to some things you learned from this investigation?
"I'm not sure that we have put in anything yet. We are not to that point yet."
