MSU-Arkansas Game Rained Out

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Friday's SEC baseball series opener between Mississippi State and No. 11 Arkansas has been cancelled due to rain and wet field conditions. The game has been rescheduled as part of a 2 p.m. Saturday doubleheader.

It's the first weather cancellation of the year for Mississippi State (29-21, 8-16 SEC).

Junior right-hander Alan Johnson (3-3, 6.02) will start for State while Arkansas (34-16, 16-8 SEC) will counter with Arkansas junior lefty Clint Brannon (3-2, 3.63) in the opener. In the nightcap, State senior right-hander Jeff Lacher (3-6, 4.25) will be matched with Razorback sophomore Charley Boyce (7-1, 2.91).

MSU will honor senior players Steve Gendron, Jeff Lacher and Tyler Scarbrough and senior manager Stan Mills prior to Saturday's twinbill.
