Wayne Hardy (USM commitment) - 6-1, 200, Lawrence County HS. A member of the Clarion-Ledger Second-Team All-State team. Also plays linebacker. Being recruited by MSU (will visit Jan. 4) and USM.
Kingi McNair - 6-3, 200, 4.5, Pelahatchie (MS) HS. A member of the Clarion-Ledger Second-Team All-State team. A member of the Clarion-Ledger's Top 40 Recruits list. MSU (will visit Jan. 18th), Alabama (will visit) and La. Tech recruiting him.
James Newby - 6-6, 265, 4.92, Athens (AL) HS. Has played TE/DE and can play OL. A member of PrepStar's pre-season All-Region team (top 750 in the nation). Considering MSU (will visit Jan. 11), North Carolina State, Louisville, Middle Tenn. State and Memphis.
Torey Staten - 5-8, 180, 4.4, D'Iberville (MS) HS. A Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team.
KEN TOPPS (MSU COMMITMENT) - 6-0, 170, Shannon (MS) HS. A member of the Clarion-Ledger's Dandy Dozen, Ken was also selected as the quarterback on the G&W Recruiting Report's pre-season Southeast All-Area Team. SuperPrep lists him as the 21st best player in Mississippi in their pre-season issue. Tom Lemming's Prep Football pre-season Report lists him as a member of their All-American team. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team. Chose MSU (will visit Jan. 11-13) over Memphis, Troy State and Ole Miss.
DARREN WILLIAMS (MSU COMMITMENT) - 6-4, 195, 4.45, Clarksdale (MS) HS. Darren is considered one of the top players in the nation and one of the top two players in Mississippi. A member of The Sporting News' top 25 national players list. Rated the 40th best player in the nation by TheInsiders.com. A Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection. One of the top 125 players in the country according to Max Emfinger, The Sporting News, Tom Lemming's Prep Report and PrepStar. Selected to the G&W Recruiting Report's post-season All-American team. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team. Darren told me that he will take all five of his official visits. Looking at MSU (visit set for Jan. 11th), Ole Miss, Florida and others.

KICKERS/PUNTERS (2)
KEITH ANDREWS (MSU COMMITMENT) - 6-1, 175, Ouachita Christian H.S. (Monroe, LA). Keith is credited with kicking the longest field goal (59 yards) in Louisiana High School history. Has also kicked two 53-yarders and a 49-yarder this season. Kicked 27 of 28 extra point attempts this season. Also plays soccer and baseball (pitcher). He has visited Michigan, has offers from MSU (will visit Jan. 11) and UL-Monroe and is also being recruited by Arkansas and Princeton (he is a 4.0 student).
SCOTT SHURDEN (MSU COMMITMENT) - 5-8, 175, Neshoba Central (MS) HS. 1999 and 2000 First Team All-State Kicker and 2000 2nd Team All-State Punter. A PrepStar pre-season All-American (top 300 in nation) selection. A member of the Clarion-Ledger's Top 40 Recruits team. Kicked a combined 28 field goals his sophomore and junior years. 83% of his kickoffs, during his junior year, went into the endzone. Good student. His dream is to play for MSU.

QUARTERBACKS (5)
Bryan Brown - 5-11, 190, 4.5, Corinth (MS) HS. A member of the Clarion-Ledger's Top 40 Recruits team. Tom Lemming's Prep Football pre-season Report lists him as a member of their All-American team. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team.
Eddie Burger - 6-1, 190, 4.6, Long Beach (MS) HS.
BRETT MORGAN (MSU COMMITMENT) - 6-0, 185, Warren Central (Vicksburg, MS) HS. Very good athlete. A member of the Clarion-Ledger's Top 40 Recruits team. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team. Also an excellent holder. Younger brother of MSU football player Josh Morgan and former MSU football player Rob Morgan. His father is the head football coach at Warren Central HS in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Very good student. A leader on the field. Grew up as a fan of MSU.
ARIES NELSON (MSU COMMITMENT) - 6-3, 195, 4.5, Cleveland (MS) East Side. Excellent athlete. A Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection. A member of the Clarion-Ledger Second-Team All-State team. Possibly the top quarterback in the state of Mississippi this year. Listed in the pre-season issues of Tom Lemming's Prep Football Report, SuperPrep Magazine and PrepStar Magazine. Chose MSU over Grambling State, Ole Miss, Marshall and Jackson State.
Justin Tyler - 6-4, 215, 4.71, Jones County (Gray, GA) HS. Also a great baseball player who is interested in playing both sports in college. Considered one of the top 25 quarterbacks in the south by G&W Recruiting Report's pre-season issue. According to his dad, his top three are MSU (will visit Jan. 11-13), South Carolina (will visit Dec. 14-16) and Central Florida (may visit them on Jan. 4-6).

RUNNING BACKS (5)
Bo Baxter - 6-3, 240, 4.7, Tupelo (MS). Plays fullback. Selected to the Clarion-Ledger's pre-season Top 40 Recruits list. MSU, Ole Miss and USM showing the most interest.
Ruben Mayes - 6-1, 240, 4.6, Ridgeway (Memphis, TN) HS. Considered the top fullback prospect in Tennessee by some recruiting experts. Voted the Memphis' area back of the year in 2000. Good student with a very good ACT score. Recruited by MSU (will visit Jan. 18), Memphis, Tenn. and Florida.
JERIOUS NORWOOD (MSU COMMITMENT) - 6-2, 190, 4.5, Brandon (MS) HS. A member of The Sporting News' post-season top 25 national players list. The Clarion-Ledger's Player of the Year his senior year. 1st Team All-State as a junior. Rated as one of the top running backs in the country by most recruiting experts. A Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection. Selected by Max Emfinger's, The Sporting News, PrepStar and Tom Lemming's Prep Report as one of the top 125 players in the nation. A SuperPrep and G&W Recruiting Report pre-season All-American selection. His running style has been compared to former NFL great Eric Dickerson. Good student. Chose MSU over most of the colleges in the country. Will very likely take his official visits.
Jamal Pittman (Committed to Ole Miss) - 6-1, 220, Columbia (MS) HS. Selected to the Clarion-Ledger's Top 40 Recruits team. Selected to Tom Lemming's Prep Football Report's pre-season All-American team. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team. Tremendous runner with great power. Chose Ole Miss over MSU (visit set up for Jan. 4th) and others.
Nicholas Turner - 6-0, 185, 4.35, Washington (Atlanta, GA) HS. Considered one of the top running backs in the country by all recruiting experts. A consensus pre-season All-American selection. Selected by TheInsiders.com, Max Emfinger, The Sporting News and Tom Lemming's Prep Report as one of the top 101 players in the country. Runs the 100 meters in 10.4 seconds. A nationwide recruit.

WIDE RECEIVERS (3)
Tee Milons - 5-9, 165, 4.4, Starkville HS. A member of The Clarion-Ledger's top-40 prospects list. A member of PrepStar's pre-season All-Region team (national top 750). Also picked as SuperPrep's 14th best player in Mississippi in their pre-season issue. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team.
WILL PROSSER (SIGNED WITH MSU) - 6-4, 205, 4.55, Starkville (MS) Academy. Originally signed with Mississippi State in February 2001, but did not enroll in school full-time this past fall. . . Named the Male Athlete of the Year in North AAAA among all private schools following his prep career at Starkville (Miss.) Academy . . . Was the most valuable player in football, basketball and baseball among North AAAA schools and played in each of those three sports' Mississippi Private School Association all-star game . . . Named to the Columbus Commercial Dispatch all-area football team . . . Outstanding three-sport athlete at Starkville (Miss.) Academy for head football coach Steve Morgan . . . Starred in both basketball and baseball, as well as playing both ways in football . . . Started at quarterback during his senior season at Starkville Academy, leading his team to an 8-2 overall record . . . Completed 70-of-124 passes for 1,296 yards and 16 touchdowns . . . Also rushed for 550 yards and six more scores . . . Named first-team, all-conference and all-state in the Mississippi Private Schools Association . . . Selected to the Mississippi Private Schools Association All-Star Game, he made a splash at wide receiver . . . Caught seven passes for 126 yards in the all-star tilt . . . Suffered a broken leg late in his sophomore season at Starkville Academy and did not play his junior football season . . . As a sophomore, he completed 85-of-147 passes for 1,024 yards and nine touchdowns, and rushed for 243 yards and five scores, prior to the injury . . . Also starred on the basketball court and on the baseball diamond, earning all-North AAAA honors in both sports . . . Also an honor student in the classroom (3.4 GPA and 26 ACT) and in the community . . . Born William Sidney Prosser, 8-2-83 in Hollandale, Miss. . . . Son of Dr. and Mrs. Sidney Prosser . . . Brandon Wright - 5-9, 165, 4.35, East (Memphis, TN) HS. Runs a 10.5 100 meters. All-State WR as a sophomore and All-State DB as a junior. A SuperPrep pre-season All-American selection (ranked as the 33rd WR on the AA list). A member of PrepStar's pre-season Top 123 Dream Team (one of only 15 WRs to make the team).

RICHARD BURCH (MSU COMMITMENT) - 6-6, 306, Brandon (MS) HS. The top offensive lineman in the state of Mississippi this year. A Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection. Selected to the PrepStar pre-season Top 125 Dream Team, the only Mississippi high school offensive lineman selected to the team. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team.
James Cochran - 6-6, 274, 4.8, Central (Memphis, TN) HS. Plays center. Chosen All-Metro. Being recruited by Memphis, Ole Miss, MSU and Missouri.
MONTE COLLINS (MSU COMMITMENT) - 6-8, 360, Provine HS (Jackson, MS). A member of the Clarion-Ledger Second-Team All-State team. Selected to the Clarion-Ledger's Top 40 Recruits team. Plans on taking his official visits.
MANUEL DICKSON (SIGNED WTH MSU) - 6-4, 290, 4.9, Greeneville, TN (Greeneville/Georgia Military College) ­ Started at offensive guard for coach Bert Williams at Georgia Military College . . . Helped lead his junior college team to the National Junior College Athletic Association national championship this past season, defeating Butler (Kan.) Community College in the title game . . . Played four years of varsity football and started the final three seasons at Greeneville (Tenn.) High School, playing his senior season for head coach Mike Zeller . . . Started both ways for GTS, playing center on offense and tackle on defense . . . Helped his prep team to the state playoffs all four years, including a 12-1 mark and berth in the state quarterfinals as a junior . . . Earned honorable mention all-state and first-team all-region recognition at the center position during his senior campaign.
Timmy Duckworth - 6-4, 295, 5.1, Taylorsville (MS) HS. A Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection. Selected to TheInsiders.com top 100 players in the nation list. A member of the G&W Recruiting Report's and SuperPrep's 2001 pre-season All-American teams. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team.
Jon Hawk - 6-5, 310, Garden City CC. A December, 2001 grad. Ranked as the 11th best juco player in the nation (2nd best OL) by JCFootball.com. His coach told me that he is very agile for his size and also very strong. An Honorable Mention All-American his freshman year. Signed with Oklahoma out of high school. Re-signed with Oklahoma after his juco freshman year but decided to come back to Garden City CC for his sophomore year. Has received a ton of calls from colleges but, according to Coach Hill at Garden City, he has been through the recruiting process and knows what he is looking for. Schools he is showing the most interested in are Kentucky, MSU and Clemson.
Jay Kirkland (Committed to Ole Miss) - 6-4, 295, 5.2, New Albany (MS). A Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team. According to Jay, he will visit Ole Miss, MSU (set to visit Jan. 4th), Auburn and LSU.
Travis McGee - 6-3, 290, 4.8, San Francisco City College. Plays center. A December graduate. Has a 455 bench press to his credit. Considering MSU (visited Nov. 22-24), Arizona State, Cincinnati, Middle Tennessee and Indiana. Likes the SEC but also wants to sign with a school that is relatively close to his home in Kentucky.
Antonio Sanders - 6-4, 310, 4.9, Fairley HS (Memphis, TN). Although he was not that well-known coming into his senior season, he has become a hot recruit based on his performance this season. Being recruited by MSU (will visit Jan. 4), Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Memphis, Ole Miss and Louisville, among others.
Emanuel Valcourt - 6-5, 280, Pasadena City College. Did not play this year due to an injury.

DEFENSIVE TACKLES, NOSE GUARDS AND ENDS (10)
J J GRANT (MSU COMMITMENT) - 6-5, 250, Hinds CC. Signed with MSU out of high school in 2000 as a linebacker. Did not play this year due to an injury. Completely healthy now. Should be an immediate impact player. He told me that he is firmly committed to MSU.
Parys Haralson - 6-3, 235, 4.7, Madison Central (MS) HS. A member of PrepStar's pre-season Top 125 Dream Team. A SuperPrep and Tom Lemming's Prep Football Report pre-season All-American selection. A Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection. Selected by The Sporting News as one of the top 101 players in the nation. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team.
LaRon Harris - 6-3, 300, 4.97, Kingsbury HS (Memphis, TN). A PrepStar pre-season All-American. Rated by SuperPrep in their pre-season issue as one of the top 10 players (10th) in Tennessee. One of the top defensive linemen in Tennessee. Being recruited by many schools, including Alabama, Memphis, Tennessee, Auburn, Illinois, Arkansas, MSU and Iowa. Has official visits scheduled with Alabama, Memphis, Tennessee, Auburn and MSU (visit Jan. 4).
Corvelli Haynes - 6-4, 230, 4.7, East Side (Cleveland, MS) HS. Selected as one of the top 20 players in Mississippi by PrepStar. Considering MSU, Georgia and USM.
Willie Henderson - 6-7, 270, 4.9, Ridgeway (Memphis, TN) HS. Considered one of the top 125 players in the nation according to PrepStar, Max Emfinger and Tom Lemming Prep Report. A SuperPrep pre-season All-American selection.
Brandon Jenkins - 6-5, 255, 4.6, East (Memphis, TN) HS. Selected by PrepStar as a pre-season All-American. Justin is being recruited by MSU, Tennessee, Memphis, Arkansas, Tennessee State, West Virginia, and Middle Tennessee State. He has official visits set up with Memphis and West Virginia and hopes to set one up with MSU soon.
MARKELL MCKINLEY (MSU COMMITMENT) - 6-3, 265, 5.0, Weir (MS) HS. One of the top defensive linemen in the state of Mississippi. Also plays TE. A SuperPrep and PrepStar pre-season All-American selection. Very quick feet for his size. Cousin of MSU football players Dennis McKinley, Alvin McKinley and Dicenzo Miller. Will have no problem qualifying academically. Received interest from most of the SEC schools and a few non-SEC schools. He told me that he is still receiving calls but is firmly committed to MSU.
Jayme Mitchell (Committed to Ole Miss) - 6-5, 280, Forest Hill. Selected to Tom Lemming's Prep Football Report's pre-season All-American team. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team.
OTIS RIDDLEY (MSU COMMITMENT) - 6-3, 305, Provine HS (Jackson, MS.). One of the top defensive linemen in the state of Mississippi. A member of the Clarion-Ledger Second-Team All-State team. Selected to the PrepStar pre-season All-Region team (top 750 in the nation). A member of the Clarion-Ledger's Top 40 Recruits team. Teammate of Provine's other MSU commitment, Monty Collins. He told me that he is still receiving calls but is firmly committed to MSU.
Roosevelt Tate - 6-4, 240, 4.7, Hamilton (Memphis, TN) HS. Roosevelt told me he is considering The University of Memphis, Mississippi State, Iowa and Arkansas.

Chris Booker - 6-4, 220, 4.7, Northwest Rankin (MS) HS. A member of the Clarion-Ledger's pre-season Top 40 Recruits list. Considering MSU, Marshall and USM.
Ken Bournes - 6-2, 255, Co-Lin CC. Ranked as the 20th best player (6th best LB) on JCFootball.com's Top 101 List. Considering MSU, USC and Ole Miss.
O'Bryant Brandy - 6-3, 220, Noxubee County HS. A member of the Clarion-Ledger Second-Team All-State team. Hearing from Ole Miss and MSU.
Marvin Byrdsong - 6-2, 228, 4.55, Longview (TX) HS. One of the top linebackers in the nation. Selected by TheInsiders.com, Max Emfinger, The Sporting News and PrepStar as one of the top 125 players in the nation. A SuperPrep and G&W Recruiting Report's pre-season All-American teams. Seriously looking at Texas, Arkansas, Texas A&M, MSU (visited Dec. 2-3), and Oklahoma. Will also unofficially visit LSU.
Chris Herring (Committed to Ole Miss) - 6-2, 257, 4.6, South Panola (Batesville, MS) HS. Selected to TheInsiders.com and Tom Lemming's Prep Report top 100 players list. A SuperPrep and PrepStar pre-season All-American selection. A Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team. Although he is committed to Ole Miss, he said he is still considering MSU (visited Nov. 30-Dec. 2).
KENNETH KERN (MSU COMMITMENT) - 6-1, 225, 4.7, Clarksdale (MS) HS. One of the top linebackers in the state of Mississippi. A member of the Clarion-Ledger's Top 40 Recruits team. A PrepStar pre-season All-Region (top 750 in nation) selection. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team. Considered Ole Miss and MSU (visit Jan. 11th) before committing to MSU.
Sam Olajubutu, Jr. - 5-10, 205, 4.5, Lagrange (GA) HS. 3A Defensive Player of the Year his senior season. Will visit MSU, Arkansas and Middle Tennessee.
Deljuan Robinson - 6-4, 270, 4.8, Hernando (MS) HS. A member of The Sporting News' post-season top 25 national players list. Selected to the G&W Recruiting Report's post-season All-American team. A Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection. Selected by The Sporting News as one of the top 101 players in the nation. A SuperPrep, G&W Report, Tom Lemming's Prep Report and PrepStar pre-season All-American selection. A member of the Clarion-Ledger First-Team All-State team. Considering MSU (visit Jan. 11), Auburn, LSU, Georgia and Tennessee.

Stephen Arant - 6-4, 195, 4.5, Indianola (MS) Academy. Also plays WR. A PrepStar Southeast All-Region (top 750 in nation) in their pre-season magazine. Considering MSU and Ole Miss.
Odell Bradley - 5-11, 180, 4.6, Co-Lin CC. Ranked as the 73rd best player (7th best CB) on JCFootball.com's Top 101 List. Considering Ole Miss, USC, Clemson, Baylor, New Mexico and MSU. Ole Miss and USC are the leaders.
Vincent Dancy - 6-2, 190, 4.6, Noxubee County (Macon, MS) HS. Considering MSU and Ole Miss.
Kevin Dockery - 5-9, 178, 4.5, Hernando (MS) HS. Considering MSU (visit Jan. 11) and Marshall.
Jeff Francoeur - 6-4, 205, 4.5, Parkview (Lilburn, GA) HS. A SuperPrep and Tom Lemming's Prep Report pre-season All-American. Selected to PrepStar's Dream Team (top 125 in the nation). Also an outstanding baseball prospect. Considered one of the top safeties in the nation. MSU is recruiting him but he has strong Ole Miss ties and could very likely end up there.
Chris Porter - 6-0, 160, 4.4, Hinds CC.
