DB/WR VINCENT DANCY NOV. 25TH INTERVIEW

Vincent Dancy is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound defensive back/wide receiver from Noxubee County (Macon, MS) High School. Vincent, who runs a 4.5 forty, is an excellent student with a very good grade point average. He has yet to take the ACT but plans on doing so in December. Although Vincent is not well-known outside of the state, he has drawn considerable attention from all of the in-state schools.

I recently saw Vincent play against Hernando (MS) High School in the playoffs and came away very impressed with his combination of athletic ability, size and excellent hands.

I saw you play against Hernando High School in a playoff game a couple of Friday's ago. I know you are considered a very good defensive back but you really looked great catching the ball against Hernando.
Vincent: "I would rather play at receiver but I have just been big at (defensive back)."

I have seen you listed at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds. Is that your correct size?
Vincent: "Yes sir."

You appear to have very good speed. What is your forty yard dash time?
Vincent: "4.5."

When did you first become a starter for your high school team?
Vincent: "I've been a starter ever since the 10th grade."

What schools are calling you?
Vincent: "Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Jackson State, Southern Miss and Mississippi Valley."

Are there certain things you like about each school?
Vincent: "I like their football programs and that they are all good academic schools."

Because you play two positions, are the schools that are recruiting you recruiting you for both positions or as a DB or WR?
Vincent: "Jackson State is recruiting me as a receiver. I talked to Mississippi State's DB coach (Melvin Smith) and Ole Miss and they asked me which position I would rather play. Neither one of them really said which position they wanted me at. The other schools like me as a defensive back."

Did any coaches come to any of your games this season?
Vincent: "Ole Miss and Mississippi State have watched me play."

Have any of the schools set up an in-home or official visit with you?
Vincent: "No, not yet. They have told me that they have to wait until a certain date, then they will be calling me more often."

Are you leaning to any school at this time?
Vincent: "Mississippi State and Ole Miss. It will be one of those two schools."

Have you been to any college football games this year?
Vincent: "I was at the Mississippi State games when they played South Carolina and Memphis."

Do you plan on attending any other games this year?
Vincent: "Yes sir, Mississippi State's game against Brigham Young."

Thank you for your time, Vincent.
