Tiffany McWilliams Signs With Stellar Athletics

Stellar Athletics is delighted to announce that the most exciting US middle distance athlete in recent times Tiffany McWilliams has signed an exclusive management agreement following talks in the US between Tiffany, her coach Al Schmidt, Stellar Group Chairman Jonathan Barnett and Stellar Athletics managing director John Regis following her recent success in the NCAA Championships.

Tiffany, currently in her junior year at Mississippi State University, has broken all records at the school and collegiate level and is considered one of, if not, the brightest prospect in US track and field. She will be leaving college athletics at the end of the current academic year to turn professional and focus all her time and energies on her running, with the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens her main goal, but will continue her academic studies at Mississippi State for another year and a half.

Despite the switch in status, Tiffany will continue to be coached by the man who has turned her from promising school athlete into a serious contender to win the US Olympic Trials later this year: Mississippi State University Head Coach Al Schmidt, who saw potential in Tiffany when many other coaches doubted her credentials of becoming a world-class performer.

Stellar Athletics is also pleased to announce that in addition to Tiffany coming under the Stellar Group umbrella, she has also been rewarded with a multi-year, highly lucrative contract with one of the world's major athletics equipment manufacturers, adidas.

Tiffany was extremely pleased with the new arrangement, commenting: "I am delighted to sign with Stellar Athletics. They are a highly-professional, successful athlete representation agency and I am confident that they will take care of all my affairs off the track, allowing me to concentrate on pursuing my dream on the track. I know Stellar have high hopes for me and I am going to do my best not to disappoint them."

Stellar Athletics Managing Director and ex World Indoor 200m gold medalist John Regis was equally delighted with the deal, hailing it as a major step in cementing Stellar Athletics' position in the US.

"The signing of Tiffany McWilliams is a significant one for Stellar Athletics. Tiffany is rightly considered as the great hope of American middle-distance running and we will do all we can to form a strong team around her working alongside coach Al Schmidt. This agreement places us at the forefront of athlete representation in the US and is a major milestone on the path to our ultimate goal of becoming the leading athletics management agency in the world."
