En route to earning first team all-greater Houston and District 20-5A MVP honors from the Houston Chronicle for the second consecutive season, Blake collected three perfect games and one no-hitter, while also tallying four one-hit outings. She struck out 10 or more batters on 10 different occasions, including striking out 15 in a perfect appearance against Austin High School on April 23.
Although beginning the season with a No. 1 ranking, Blake and Elkins cemented their name into the national scene with a perfect run through the Tournament of Champions in which they knocked off California high school powers Pacifica (No. 3 final ranking) and Saugus, as well as national power Flowing Wells (AZ). Blake finished her senior season with five victories against teams ranked in the NFCA High School top 25. Her 6-0 record at the gala earned Blake tournament MVP honors.
Elkins (39-0) became just one of three state championship teams in the history of Texas 5A to finish undefeated. For her efforts, including a no-hit performance against Brazoswood in the regional quarterfinals, Blake earned MVP of the Texas 5A state tournament.
