Paul, who came across on the phone as a very articulate and bright young man, is one of the most highly recruited big men in the south, and possibly the nation, with over 30 offers from schools like Notre Dame, Duke, LSU, Florida, Maryland, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, North Carolina, Auburn, Clemson, Middle Tennessee State, Arkansas, Tulane, Stanford, Louisville and Central Florida just to name a few.
Three of those five received a visit from him this summer, although two were camp-related, while the other was an unofficial visit. "I went to Notre Dame and Duke for camp and I went to LSU for a (unofficial) visit but I didn't go to their camp," said Paul, who is in the process of setting up his five official visits.
Although he has mentioned in several other interviews with TheInsiders publishers and recruiting scouts that Notre Dame was his favorite school, he praise three schools this time. "I visited those three (Duke, Notre Dame and LSU)," said Paul. "It's so tough to call between them. I like all of them. There's something different about all of them that I really like."
What is Paul looking for in a school? "I would like to go to a program that wins a lot because everybody hates losing," said Paul. "Academics are also very important because football is going to end one day and where will you be?"
Even though he has an offer from Mississippi State, Paul didn't mention them as one of his favorites. Are they any kind of factor in his recruiting? "Obviously, I would look at them, but I don't know how heavily I would pursue them," said Paul. "I don't know much about them. You don't really look at them when you don't know anything about them."
