With college coaches now able to call recruits and recruits attending college football games, the recruiting season is underway. Archie Sims, one of the top players in the state of Mississippi, has received several calls from coaches and attended the Tulane at Mississippi State football game last weekend. Archie talked about the game and the colleges that have called him over the course of the past 8 days.

Now that you have seen them in person, what kind of opinion do you have of the Mississippi State football team?
"They seem like they are disciplined pretty good."

What was your experience at Mississippi State like overall?
"I enjoyed myself."

Did you get to meet and talk with the Mississippi State coaches?
"Yes sir. I talked to Coach Croom, Coach Kitchens, all of them, really."

After attending the game, have your feelings about Mississippi State changed in any way?
"I can see myself playing for them."

Do you plan on going to a college game this weekend?
"I am going to go to the (Mississippi) State-Auburn game."

What coaches have called you since they could start calling recruits on September 1st?
"State, Ole Miss, Auburn and West Virginia."

When did they call?
"They called last week and they called today (September 8th)."

Which coach called first on September 1st?
"State. He called a little after 7 last week." [Archie's MSU recruiting coach is Freddie Kitchens.-Gene]

Did it surprise you to receive a call that early in the morning?
"Yeah, it really did."

What colleges have offered scholarships?
"State, Ole Miss, Auburn, Southern (Miss), Memphis and West Virginia."
