Richard and Reginald Delk Commit to MSU

Reginald and Richard Delk (pictured) committed to Mississippi State Tuesday over SEC programs Auburn, Tennessee and Ole Miss as well as UAB. They also received recruiting interest from two other SEC schools, Arkansas and Florida. Richard explained why he and his brother committed to 2004 SEC Champions Mississippi State.

What were the reasons you chose Mississippi State over the other schools that were recruiting you and your brother?
"They have a pretty good program at Mississippi State. They have a good coaching staff and we liked the players. We also felt like we could get some playing time early."

What other schools did you visit?
"We also visited UAB and cancelled visits to Ole Miss, Auburn and Tennessee."

When did you decide that Mississippi State was the school that you wanted to sign with?
"After the UAB visit. Really, we liked Mississippi State a long time."

What was it that caused you to favor them early on?
"They came to almost all of our AAU games. That impressed us."

Obvioulsy, you two impressed them as well. What did their coaching staff say they like about both of you?
"Basically, they said we were very good athletes who fit into their system."

What does it feel like to basically have your recruiting out of the way?
"I feel happy about it because it was starting to get stressful."
