Also in double digits for MSU was junior Keisha Stringfellow with 10 points to go along with five rebounds and two steals.
Mississippi State shot 51 percent from the field and 86 percent from the line. The Lady Bulldogs narrowly escaped having a 252-game streak of hitting a three-pointer broken. The only bucket from long-range for MSU came with eight minutes remaining in the game when Tan White took the inbounds pass with three seconds on the shot clock and heaved a shot from two feet behind the arc with two people guarding her.
The Lady Bulldogs led by as many as 13 early in the first half, but took just a three-point lead, 37-34, to the locker room.
MSU began the second half with an 11-4 run to take a 10-point lead with just under 14 minutes on the clock.
The Wolfpack cut the lead to six with 10:43 on the clock, before Mississippi State finally took control of the game, leading by double digits from the 10-minute mark throughout regulation. The Lady Bulldogs' largest lead was a 67-52 margin at the 1:30 mark.
MSU returns to the States on Saturday for a few days off before traveling to Ohio to finish out their non-conference season. The Lady Bulldogs play at Cincinnati on Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. CST and at Xavier on Dec. 31 at 1 p.m. CST. Both games will be broadcast on WFCA 107.9 FM with Bart Gregory calling the action.
