Well, Darren, I must say you are a little like the President of the United States, you are a hard person to catch up with.
"(Laugh) Yeah, I stay gone a lot."
How is school going?
"It is going fine. I am trying to finish up now. I had one test to take in economics, I should finish with a high 'B' in that. I should finish tomorrow at 9:00 am."
How does it feel to be a champion?
"(Laugh) It feels good. You know, I think we deserved it."
What has kept you busy since the end of the football season?
"Nothing much. I have been thinking about doing a little recruiting but I have not gotten around to it yet."
Really? Well, guys have done that before. Do you know many of the players? "Yes sir, I know most of the 'Dandy Dozen'."
Who of those fellows would you like to have play on the same team with you?
"Well, there are a couple of them out there that have not committed yet."
So whom would you say is pressing you the hardest to change your mind?
I have seen you size and stature in print a number of times, but I want you to tell me your true height and weight.
"Well, I am about 6-3, 200-lbs., but I would like to play at 6-4, 215 to 225-lbs."
Have you visited anywhere or set up visit dates?
"I have not visited anywhere because I am trying to get ready for the US Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, TX. on January 4th. We start practice on Dec. 29th. We will practice everyday, 3 times a day."
Although you cannot actually visit schools right now, what dates have you set and to where?
"January 11th, I will visit Mississippi State; January 18th, Ole Miss; and January 24th, Florida. Then I am going to take two more to Tennessee and Notre Dame, but I have to find some time during the week when I can go."
How many total scholarship offers do you have?
"Well, I will have to say the SEC and outside the SEC, I have about 10 offers."
Do you know many of your prospective future teammates?
"Yeah, I know quite a few. I was hanging out a couple of weeks ago with some I know, Ray Ray Bivines, (Terrell) Grindle, D-Wright (Demetric Wright). I know quite a few."
Have you talked to Jerious Norwood lately?
"Yeah, I did (laugh) night before last (Monday, December 17th)."
Did you tease him about winning the 'State Player of the Year' award, suggesting that you should have won?
"No, not too much. I did not get on him."
Is Jerious a pretty cool guy?
"Yeah, he is a great guy."
Darren, I appreciate you taking time to update me. Thanks.
