[Premium article] LaRon Harris is a 6-3, 305-lb. defensive lineman from Kingsbury High School in Memphis, TN. He benches 415 pounds, squats 465 pounds and says he has run the 40-yard dash in 4.92 seconds. He is currently being recruited as a defensive tackle.

Like many youngsters growing up, LaRon has been given a nickname by his teammates. "They call me the 'big pun'; you know big pun-isher (laugh). I played every position on the defensive line plus linebacker. I do not care where I play as long as I get some playing time. I will even play long-snapper. I just want to play. Just as long as I get in. So, if they want me to play nose (guard), I will do that," LaRon said.

LaRon has heard from a boatload of schools; Tennessee, Arkansas, Auburn, Memphis, Alabama, Iowa, Illinois, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee State, Jackson State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Arkansas State, Louisville, Kentucky, plus many more. Almost all have offered with the exception of the smaller schools.

"Oh yes, Mississippi State. I forgot about them. I hear from them all the time. Coach Lewis, and coaches from Iowa (Aiken), Illinois (Ham), and Memphis (Cole) have visited in my home. Most will come after the dead period after the holidays. I have taken official visits to Arkansas and Memphis already. I will visit Tennessee on Jan. 11th and Auburn on Jan. 18th. Mississippi State wants me to come in on the 4th and a couple want me to come in on the 25th but I have not decided which ones I will take yet. I have visited Tennessee unofficially when they played against Memphis," commented LaRon.
