National Hot 100 OL Visits Mississippi State

Josh McNeil is one of the top offensive line prospects in the country, and he took his official visit to Mississippi State last weekend. The Bulldogs could not have scripted a better weekend to have one of their highest profile targets on campus.

"I had a great time at the game," said Josh McNeil. "That was the best college game I've ever been to. My brother Chris was my host, and I got to hang out with the team after the game in the locker room. The coaches and players were absolutely giddy after that big win. That night me and my family and Chris went to dinner with Coach Grimes (Offensive Line Coach), and he basically talked with my parents at dinner."

"The next morning me and Coach Croom had breakfast together and went to his office and met for about an hour. Coach Croom talked to me about how it was going to take a special recruit to come to Mississippi State and help this program get back to where it needs to be."

While McNeil isn't apt to name leaders, the Florida Gators have always been right in the thick of things. What was his reaction to the coaching change announced on Monday?

"I felt terrible for the staff. Coach Zook and Coach Wickline have built a good trusting relationship with me. I just feel terrible for the staff. I will definitely be taking a wait and see approach with Florida."

Who else is on his short list?

"I've already visited Florida (10-14). I will visit LSU (11-12), Florida State (11-19), and Tennessee (12-10). Everyone is still pretty even right now."
