Jimmy Johns Profile

What schools are calling you on a regular basis?
"(Mississippi) State, Ole Miss, West Virginia, Memphis, Auburn. That's probably the top schools that call me on a regular basis."

Who do you have offers from?
"State, Ole Miss, USM, Auburn, West Virginia, Memphis and Iowa."

Have any of the schools set up an official visit?
"Yeah, I've set up one date, Mississippi State on January 15th."

Who else is talking to you about official visits?
"Auburn, West Virginia, Ole Miss, USM and Memphis. All those schools that are calling me the most."

At one time you had a top two of State and Auburn. Who are your top schools now?
"Probably the same two."

Are they pretty much even or does one have the edge over the other?
"Well I've been to State and just from being up there they probably have a slight edge right now."

Have you been to Auburn this season?
"No I haven't but I'm planning on going."

What MSU games have you been to?
"UAB and Kentucky."

Did Coach Croom talk to you at the Kentucky game? If so, what did he say?
"Oh yeah. He told me that he really liked how I played and really wanted me up there. He liked my leadership ability."

Both Auburn and Mississippi State play in the West Coast Offense. Will that play a factor in your recruitment?
"Yeah it will because we are in a similar offense at my high school right now. I've having a fantastic year. I think I've had between 800 to 1,000 yards rushing and between 1,300 and 1,400 passing. I think I've had 15 (touchdowns) on the ground and 16 or 17 through the air."

As a football player, what was the difference you saw in MSU from the UAB game to the Kentucky game?
"First of all they had their quarterback back. And it looked like they were playing more physical and harder. It looked like they have their swagger back. I was talking to (MSU starting safety) Darren (Williams) after the game and he told me that they had their swagger back."
