This is my interview with Keith:

I heard that you took a visit to Mississippi State this weekend, is that true?
"Yes, it is."

How did you enjoy the visit?
"It was real nice. The coaches were nice, and the facilities were impressive too. The campus was great."

You said the facilities were impressive, what was impressive about them?
"Well, just the quality of the weight room, the locker room, the equipment they have. Everything was just top notch."

On these trips, you usually have a host - who was your host?
"Kevin Sijansky."

What did you think of him?
"He was a really nice guy. I liked him."

And what about your position coach - did you get a chance to spend any time with coach Sherrill this weekend?
"I met with him for about 15 or 20 minutes."

I think a lot of people wonder what goes on in meetings like that - what is discussed?
"Well just my plans - he basically wanted me to get the education part and wanted to get me set up for that. Really, there wasn't a lot of football talk, it was mostly school work."

So, you didn't even talk about whether or not you would compete for a starting spot this year or anything like that?
"No, he didn't even get to that."

That's interesting. Now, have you already committed to State?
"Yes, sir."

Well, even though (coach Sherrill) didn't mention it, what do you think about your playing time next year?
"I think I can come in a compete for the starting spot."

What was the highlight of your weekend?
"Probably the basketball game."

Was there a lot of energy in the place?
"That was a wild place. The only basketball games I've ever been to are like NLU, and they don't have that many people show up and they are not that exciting. But that one was."

Who did you hang out with this weekend?
"Just Kevin basically. There wasn't a lot of people around."

I heard that they showed all the recruits a highlight film of each of you in action. What did you think of that?
"That was pretty neat getting to see the other people and their talents. You could watch them and know what they were there for."

I guess they showed some of your kicks then?
"Yes, they showed all of mine over 50, and one of my kick-offs."

Have you been on any other visits yet?
"Just Michigan."

Why don't you compare the two visits.
"Well the visits were about the same. The town (in Michigan) was kind of small and they had a lot of people together real compact, and it just wasn't for me. And it was too cold up there too."

I see. Are you doing any work outs right now?
"Well, I'm working with the baseball team right now."

Oh, you play baseball too?
"Yes, sir."

I appreciate your time Keith.
"Thanks."

[During the interview, Keith impressed me as a confident young man. He was not a man of many words but he seemed sure of himself, and sure of his choice to attend MSU. I would say being sure of one's self is a good quality, especially if your a kicker who will compete for playing time in his first year in the SEC. - Brent]
