Hey, Darren.
"What's going on?"

Not much, how are you doing?
"I'm doing fine."

You still want to talk, or is the recruiting process getting to you (laugh)?
"I'm still here. I'm still here (laugh)."

I said that because you appear to be one of the most talked about recruits in the nation, I guess.

I've got my own official visit list and I'm trying to confirm who is and who isn't coming in this weekend? I've got you set up as coming to Mississippi State this weekend. Is that correct?
"That's right."

By the way, how did you do this past weekend in the all-star game?
"I had about 8 tackles and forced 2 fumbles."

That's pretty good stats. Did you win any kind of defensive award for playing so well?
"No, everybody in our secondary played good. We had a couple of DBs with picks and about 6 or 7 tackles."

How did it feel playing on a team like that, because that was the elite of the elite?
"Yea man, I felt good. It let me know how good I was."

What position did you play?
"Strong safety."

Did you play any on offense?
"Yea, I played about six snaps in the first two quarters, but they weren't throwing me the ball."

Why didn't they throw you the ball?
"I don't know, I was wide open. The quarterback didn't have time, I know that."

Wasn't Deljuan Robinson also on the team?
"No, I was the only one from Mississippi."

Was Marvin Byrdsong on the team with you?
"He was on the West."

How did he do?
"He did well. He hits hard."

Is he as good as everybody thinks he is?
"Yea."

I'll just ask you a couple of more questions, because I know you are back in school now and don't need to spend a lot of time talking to folks like me. What other schools are you going to visit other than Mississippi State?
"Ole Miss, Tennessee and, maybe, Florida. I'm going to visit Ole Miss on the 18th and Tennessee. I had Florida set for the 25th, but I'll probably not go down there, now.

Last question. Oh, were you about to say something else?
"Yea, I was going to say I just want to go visit to see how it is at other places. I know where I'm going to school."

You just answered my question before I even asked it. You know who you are committed to, huh?
"Yea."

[I noticed that Darren was as calm during this conversation as he was when I first talked to him in August. That led me to ask my last question.] You seem to be handling this entire recruiting process really well. You aren't letting it get to you are you?
"Yes, I'm fine. I won't let it get to me."

I'll post this on my front page. Thanks, Darren, and good luck.
"Alright."
