Mississippi's Top OL Down to 3

Josh McNeil is one of the top offensive linemen in the nation. He is a member of the National Hot 100, and the big Mississippi star has now narrowed his list down to a final three. Who has made the latest cut?

"My top three is LSU, Mississippi State and Tennessee. I pretty much narrowed it down today after I returned from my USC visit," Josh McNeil said.

Why did McNeil choose to eliminate the Gators and Trojans?

"I never thought about how far it was out to USC until I had to fly 5 hours to get there. I also didn't feel as if I really fit in out there. I'm a southern boy and it just wasn't my type of atmosphere. As for the Gators, I really liked Florida and I love Coach Wickline and Coach Zook but I want to make a decision before Christmas and they still don't have a coach yet."

What has kept the Tigers, Bulldogs and Volunteers still in the running?

LSU: "They won the National Championship last year and they've only lost 2 games this year. They only have 1 senior on offense and they are building some new facilities."

Mississippi State: "I think Coach Croom has really turned that program in the right direction and I'm pretty comfortable up there already because I know a lot of the players."

Tennessee: "I really don't know a whole lot about them but I go there in two weeks. I like Coach Stephens and Coach Fulmer and they have some nice facilities from what I remember when I went up there a few years ago."

What will separate one of these teams from the other two when it comes time to make a decision?

"I would probably just say my overall comfort factor and how early I can play. I really don't want to play my true freshman year because you're playing against men on the offensive line who are a lot older than you in some cases and I've never really seen a true freshman do that well in his first season."
