Have all of them offered scholarships? And have any other schools offered?
"All of those schools have offered scholarships except for Florida State," said Barnes. "They are supposed to give me something Friday (December 10th). I've got a lot of others, but I can't think of all of them." (Based on previous interviews, some of those others include Florida, Louisville, North Carolina, Central Florida, Middle Tennessee State and Ball State.-Gene)
What schools are at the top of his list?
"LSU, Florida State, Mississippi State and (Georgia) Tech are my favorites," said Barnes.
And all four are scheduled to receive official visits.
"I am going to Georgia Tech tomorrow (Friday, December 10th)," said Barnes. "January 14th through the 16th, I'm at Mississippi State. January 21st, I'm at Florida State. And the 28th of January I'm at LSU."
What does he like about each school?
"I like LSU's colors. They have my high school colors. Plus, their football environment is very good. I like Florida State just because they are in Florida. I know that will also be a good environment to be in. I don't know too much about Mississippi State, but I think the coaching staff is great. I like how they come on and talk to you. I think a lot of Coach Drayton. I like Coach Croom's style of coaching, his toughness, his discipline. I like that (Georgia) Tech is close to home and that they are in Georgia."
Are all four recruiting him to play wide receiver?
"Florida State and LSU are recruiting me as a free safety," Barnes said. "Georgia Tech is recruiting me as an athlete. Mississippi State is recruiting me as a wide receiver."
So many options. What's his favorite position?
"I am leaning toward the defensive side (of the ball in college)," explained Barnes, an excellent student who is on track to qualify.
