A versatile athlete who can play either wide receiver or quarterback, Jones is receiving quite a bit of attention from colleges.
"Duke and Mississippi State came to my home," said Jones, who has scholarship offers from Mississippi State, Kentucky, Duke, SMU, Marshall and Texas A&M. "Mississippi State came in today (Sunday, December 12th). Duke came in last Tuesday. In fact, they've come in twice. Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Duke, Marshall and SMU have come to my school."
How did the in-home visit from the MSU coaches go?
"It went well. We went over some plays and stuff. They showed me what the offensive system was going to look like. My mom liked (Coach Croom) a lot. We all liked him. I love the coaching staff. They are great people. They are recruiting me as a wide receiver/quarterback."
As far as official visits are concerned, he's taken three with two to go.
"I've visited Mississippi State (11/19), Duke (12/03) and Texas A&M (12/08). I also have two officials set up for Kentucky on January 7th and Tennessee January 21st."
Who are his favorites?
"My favorites are, randomly, Texas A&M, Duke, Tennessee, Mississippi State and Kentucky."
Tennessee is the newest team on Jones' list of favorites. What are his thoughts about them?
"They are recruiting me as a quarterback," said Jones, who wants to play QB in college. "They have been interested for awhile, but they haven't offered me (a scholarship) yet."
