Adron Chambers Update

Adron Chambers, a Mississippi State commitment, talked recruiting with Gene's Page.

Just a few tidbits on Chambers:

  • Played QB/DB for Pensacola (FL) High School. Expects to play WR and, possibly, some DB and QB in college.
  • There has been much discussion as to what Chambers actual height is. It has ranged from as high as 6-1 to as low as 5-9. According to Adron, he is 5-11. His weight is 172 pounds. He got on the scales while I was talking to me so that he could give me an accurate weight.
  • Adron told me that the knee injury he suffered a few weeks ago was an ACL injury. The doctors orginally told him he would be out for up to six months, but now say he should be back playing in 4 to 5 months.
  • He was selected to play in the prestigious California-Florida All-Star game, but his injury stopped that.
  • He is a very good student who plans on majoring in Electrical Engineering at Mississippi State.
  • Despite committing to MSU early in the recruiting process, he wound up with scholarship offers from not only MSU, but Vanderbilt, Troy, Ole Miss, Middle Tennessee State and Auburn.
  • He was clocked at 4.32 in the forty yard dash at the Ole Miss camp. He said once that time got out to colleges, that was when he saw his recruitment heat up.
  • He is also a highly regarded baseball player and will play baseball for Mississippi State. He was told by scouts that he had a chance to be drafted pretty high, but he said that won't happen now that he has the knee injury. He plays centerfield and pitches. His fastball is in the 84 to 85 miles per hour range.
  • My personal opinion of Adron: A very bright youngster with an air of confidence and leadership about him, but with no cockiness. A yes sir, no sir kind of person.

These are just a few of the things you will see in the Dawgs' Bite, Powered by recruiting annual. All yearly subscribers to our site will receive a copy of the guide.
