MSU Commitment Tay Bowser Update

Tay Bowser's coach, Jeff Traylor, talked with Gene's Page about Tay, a Mississippi State commitment.

Antaveon Bowser Profile

MSU assistant coach J.B. Grimes finds a jewell.
"He didn't have a great junior year just because he wasn't ready yet. But to (MSU assistant) Coach Grimes' credit, he recruited him. He saw him covering Manuel Johnson and he knew how great of a player Manuel was, so it didn't take much to know that Tay must be pretty good. Then, he had a phenomenal senior year and everybody is all over him, now. But he had committed to State and he wants to stay with them."

(Gilmer High School's Manuel Johnson is a 4-star wide receiver who is ranked the 27th best WR in the nation by Scout.com.-Gene)

Made the biggest play of the year for his team by scoring the winning TD in the state championship game his senior season.
"He made the biggest play of the year. Against Jasper, the momentum had totally turned. The score was 42 to 41. On an incredible play, he caught a curl play and took it to the house."

His thoughts on J. B. Grimes, the MSU coach who recruited Tay.
"Coach Grimes did a really good job recruiting him. He really works hard at it."

His thoughts about MSU head coach Sylvester Croom.
"He is wonderful. He has an unbelievable presence when he walks into a room."
