MSU Defeated by Auburn, 90-76

Mississippi State (17-6, 5-4 SEC), after defeating Auburn at home 90-53 earlier in the season, didn't have the same luck playing Auburn on the road, losing 90-76.

Auburn (11-10, 2-6), losers of six of their last seven coming into the game, jumped on Mississippi State early and led at halftime, 46-27. The Bulldogs could do no better than cut the lead to 11 in the second half.

The Tigers, who had four players score in double figures, were led by Frank Tolbert's 29 points. Terry Douglas scored 21 points, while Quinnel Brown had 16 points and Nathan Watson 13 points.

The Bulldogs had five players score in double digits, Shane Power 18, Lawrence Roberts 16, Ontario Harper 13 and Jamall Edmondson and Dietric Slater with 11 each.

Mississippi State's next game is next Saturday at 6 p.m. versus Vanderbilt in Humphrey Coliseum. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Network and the Sunshine Network.
