The Bulldogs own a 16-1 record against the Blazers dating back to 1969. The teams have met in Starkville in each of the last 11 seasons. UAB's lone win in the series came in an upset in 1993, the same year MSU went on to claim the SEC title.
"Once again, we are coming off a tough loss to a top 10 team," MSU head coach Sylvain Guichard said, "and, once again, we are faced with a tough challenge at home against a good team. UAB always challenges us hard. We will have to be ready for them."
Fans can watch live updates of Saturday's match, as well as all of MSU's 2002 home contests, on State's official athletic site, www.mstateathletics.com.
State's next action following the UAB affair will be next weekend when it hosts two matches on the MSU campus. The Bulldogs will entertain Arkansas-Little Rock next Friday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. before hosting 29th-ranked South Alabama on Sunday, Feb. 10, at 1 p.m.
