Joe Greenlee Talks Recruiting

Joe Greenlee, a 6-6, 200-pound quarterback with a great arm to go along with good athletic ability, will be playing for Jackson Academy this year after playing for Winona Christian last season.

Every year there is a player or two that comes on the recruiting radar screen that very few folks know a lot about it. Joe Greenlee, who has a strong enough arm to throw the football 75 yards in the air and is athletic enough to high jump 6' 4", may be one of those guys in the state of Mississippi this year.

Joe talked recruiting with Gene's Page.

What camps do you plan on attending this summer?
"I'm planning on going to the Senior Camps at Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Alabama. I'm also going to the (Invitational) combine at Mississippi State on May 1st."

What schools are showing you the most attention?
"My coach said I've gotten letters from Mississippi State and Ole Miss. I think he also said that Ole Miss called him today." (I talked to Jackson Academy head coach Joey Hawkins. He said that Mississippi State and Ole Miss have recently gotten very, very interested in Joe.-Gene)

Who would you say are your favorite schools at the moment?
"I would say Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia, Alabama and Auburn."

Didn't your dad play at Mississippi State?
"Yes sir, he played at Mississippi State in 1971 to 1973."
