Mississippi State freshman defensive back signee Jarvis Kyles talked about the summer conditioning and his personal hopes for the upcoming fall football season.

What is your height and weight?
"I am 6-1 and 175."

What did you do during the first part of the summer?
"I worked with my hometown football team. I ran and lifted weights."

Have you seen any improvements during the summer?
"Hopefully, I did. I'm going to find out pretty soon."

Are you anxious or nervous about what is about to come?
"I'm a little bit nervous and anxious. It's good to be a little of both."

What do you hope to accomplish during the second summer session of workouts?
"I'm trying to get better, man...trying to learn and trying to get better."

What exactly do you mean by getting better?
"Get physically better. Get faster, a little bit stronger and learn the plays. Be a whole different athlete."

What are your personal hopes for the upcoming fall football season?
"I hope to get on the field and play this year."

Have the coaches told you what position you will probably play?
"Probably safety."

Actually, you probably have the option to play either safety or cornerback. Which do you prefer?
"It doesn't matter. Whatever gets me on the field the quickest."
