What did you try to accomplish the first part of the summer?
"(MSU head strength) Coach (Jim) Nowell sent me the (workout) book so that I would be prepared for this. It's going to take a lot." [Charles was watching the veterans work out while I did the interview with him. I've learned since the interview that he came in in great shape.-Gene]

What do you hope to accomplish during the second summer session of workouts?
"Just to produce. And get myself ready for (the coaches), so that I can do whatever I need to do for the team."

As far as you personally, what would be your best fantasy for the upcoming football season?
"Play. It doesn't matter where, just play."

How the coaches talked to you about playing this fall?
"(MSU head football coach Sylvester Croom) said he has no plans on redshirting anybody. But it depends on what you do on the field."

So, you had better work hard this summer.
