Tray Rutland Profile

What did you try to accomplish during the first part of the summer.
"The first part of the summer I was, basically, trying to get in shape and get ready for the MSU Bulldogs. I'm trying to come in here and make an impact early."

You haven't really run a lot since you've been here. Do you have an injury?
"No, there's no injury. They are just trying to be cautious of my hamstring. I hurt it last season in high school, so they want to be cautious."

How prepared were you for the second session workouts, especially the weight lifting?
"I wasn't that prepared for it, but I picked it up quick. Right now, I'm actually doing pretty good."

What do the MSU coaches expect from you this football season?
"They expect me to come in early and make an impact."

What would you prefer to do, play or redshirt?
"I want to play early."

When you said that, you looked and sounded determined.
"Yes sir, yes sir."

Tell the MSU fans what you will bring to the team.
"I am going to bring elusiveness to this team. I have a very strong arm. Back in high school, I was underrated, but I'm coming in here and will show the rest of the NCAA what Tray Rutland can really do."

When you said that you didn't sound cocky, but very confident.
"I am very confident in what I am coming in here to do. I am here to play football, get an education and, like I said, make an impact on the MSU football team."

You played baseball in high school. Do you plan on playing baseball at MSU?
"No sir."
