Robert Kirby Withdraws Name From Valley Job

Mississippi State assistant basketball coach Robert Kirby has withdrawn his name from consideration for the head coaching position at Mississippi Valley State University.

Kirby, who has help lead the Mississipi State men's basketball program to some of the most successful years in school history, told Dawgs' Bite that, "I've withdrawn my name from consideration for the Valley job after visiting and evaluating everything."

Kirby was one of five finalists for the men's basketball coaching job. The position came open when longtime Delta Devils' coach Lafayette Stribling retired in May.
