Coach Jeff Lee talks about QB Justin Tyler

I recently interviewed Jones County HS coach Jeff Lee. Coach Lee coached MSU quarterback Justin Tyler in high school. Here are his comments about Justin.

Coach Lee, tell me what makes Justin so special?
"I think Justin was one of the best quarterbacks in the state of Georgia. He is 6-4, 215 pounds and runs a 4.7 forty with a strong arm and a great mind for football. I feel he is going to be a great college quarterback. He can someday play on Sunday afternoon. He has that much talent."

As you know, Justin is considered a top major league baseball prospect. I have talked to his dad and he seems to really want him to go to college first and enjoy the college experience.
"That was the primary reason he chose Mississippi State. Coach Tompkins did a really great job with him. Day one, they saw him, talked to him and courted him. Almost everybody else wasn't going to give him the option to play baseball in college. Georgia and a few others weren't going to give him that opportunity. Mississippi State, along with a few others like South Carolina, Louisville and Central Florida, were. He came over here (Mississippi State) and fell in love with it. When he came back (home), he told me that was where he was going."
