During our last conversation, Allen Walker told me that he had offers from schools such as Memphis, Ole Miss, Auburn, Nebraska, Iowa, Florida, LSU, Mississippi State. Although he listed MSU among his 6 favorite schools, he told me he really knew very little about them. He and a few of his teammates had the chance to learn more about State while attending their 7 on 7 camp. Allen talked about things he learned while at the camp.

"I toured the locker room and weight room," said Allen. "I also found out that they have just built a new facility (the Palmeiro Center), the one with the 100-yard practice field in it."

The MSU coaches also impressed him.

"I talked to (MSU head) Coach (Sylvester) Croom and the wide receiver coach (Guy Holliday)," he said. "I also talked to (defensive line) Coach (Brick) Haley. When I talked to them, they were straight up with me about the playing time I would be able to get and things like that. And what position they would want me to play. They told me wherever they could get me on the field quickest would be where I would play."

Where does MSU now fit in his recruiting puzzle?

"They are about the same," said Allen.
