MSU-LSU Series Finale Rained Out

BATON ROUGE, La. - Heavy morning rains rendered the field at LSU's Alex Box Field unplayable Sunday and forced cancellation of the final game of the three-game Mississippi State-LSU baseball series in Baton Rouge.

The Bulldogs (14-9-1, 4-4 SEC) and the Tigers (17-12, 3-5 SEC) split the two games played, with the Bulldogs claiming the Friday night opener 15-4 and the Tigers rebounding for a 7-3 win Saturday.

Mississippi State entertains UT-Martin Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Dudy Noble Field and serves as host for the 23rd annual Mayor's Trophy game with instate rival Mississippi Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in Jackson. The Bulldogs resumes SEC competition this weekend in Starkville, hosting Eastern Division-leading Georgia in a three-game series. Friday's series-opener, televised regionally by Comcast Sports Southeast, is set for 6:30 p.m.
