WR James Lewis Commits to MSU

The Player of the Year in Los Angeles a couple of years ago, wide receiver James Lewis, has committed to Mississippi State.

Last recruiting season, Mississippi State battled tooth and nail for James Lewis' signature, ultimately losing out to Colorado. However, James didn't quite qualify academically and re-opened his recruitment this summer.

Well, folks, the winning school is in for this unanimous Los Angeles Player of the Year selection.

"I'm sitting out this fall and will sign with Mississippi State in December," said the 6-0, 190-pounder who recorded 63 pass receptions for 1,352 yards and 16 TDs as a senior at Venice High School.

Once James signs, he will join two of his former Venice High School teammates, freshman linebacker Jimmy Miller and walk-on freshman quarterback Robert Ambers.

With the additons of James and another recent receiver commitment, Nick Kyles, the MSU offense has suddenly received a huge shot in the arm for the future.
