Safety Reshad Jones Update

Booker T. Washington High School (Atlanta, Georgia) defensive back Reshad Jones, rated the 12th best safety in the nation by Scout.com, is interested in a lot of schools, including Mississippi State.

Reshad Jones is one of the top players in the nation. And that's not just recruiting services like Scout.com saying it. Colleges have also said the same thing with their scholarship offers.

"I have like 34 offers," said the 6-2, 180-pound Jones, who has received 8 phone calls from college coaches since September 1st.

One of the schools that has called is Mississippi State. Does he have interest in them.

"Oh yeah, I do," said Jones, who took an unofficial to Mississippi State this past summer with his teammate Andre Wicker, one of the top defensive ends in Georgia.

As for what he knows about Mississippi State, Jones learned a few things while on his visit and liked what he saw and heard.

"They have some nice facilities," he said. "I met (MSU assistant) Coach (Guy) Holliday (his recruiting coach) and their defensive line coach (Brick Haley). I also got to talk to (MSU head) Coach (Sylvester) Croom. He is a real cool guy."

But the Bulldogs are just one of many that Jones is still considering. In fact, when asked if he has a top 5 or 10 list of schools, Jones said, "it is wide open. I have no favorites."
