Game Day Activities: November 5th

Included are various MSU athletic department related activities that will be going Friday night and througout the day Saturday.

Relief Effort "MSU Warms The Coast" Kicks Off
Mississippi State University President Dr. Charles Lee has appointed MSU Director of Athletics Larry Templeton, his wife Linda Jo, and Bulldog head football coach Sylvester Croom and his wife Jeri, as chairpersons for the Hurricane Katrina relief effort "MSU Warms The Coast."

Created specifically to provide coats and jackets for youth on the Gulf Coast area ravaged by Katrina, "MSU Warms The Coast" will accept warm clothing items and blankets for coast residents still living in shelters.

MSU athletic department staff, spouses and support groups will collect the clothing items beginning this Saturday, Nov. 5, at the State-Alabama football game. Four MSU trucks will be stationed on both the west and east sides of Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field at Gates 2, 9, 14 and 15 to receive the donations.

Tailgating for MSU vs. Alabama game on Nov. 5
For the convenience of tailgating fans and other visitors to campus, portions of Dorman Hall and the Lloyd-Ricks Building will remain open before, during, and after Saturday's football game versus the University of Alabama, as will several other campus buildings in the vicinity of Davis Wade Stadium. Portable toilets also will be located near Dorman and Lloyd-Ricks to provide additional rest room capacity. Enhanced security will be in place to help ensure the quality of the game day experience for all visitors. Thank you for supporting the Bulldogs and contributing to a positive tailgating environment.

Request from MSU Students
The Mississippi State Student Association is requesting that all fans show their support for our Bulldogs by wearing MSU colors proudly this Saturday, November 5th against SEC rival Alabama. The SA is asking students to wear white and Alumni, Faculty, and Friends wear maroon.

"We have an opportunity to show this team that we are not giving up on them, and we do support them", said Student Association Athletic Support Committee Chair Jeff Ellis. "Let's show our men who proudly wear the Maroon and White, and the CBS national audience for that matter, that we do support our University."
