Markeith Summers Keeping it Close to the Vest

Olive Branch (MS) High School wide receiver Markeith Summers, one of the top receivers in the state of Mississippi, is keeping his recruiting close to the vest.

With the playoffs about to start - Olive Branch hosts Warren Central this coming Friday - Markeith has more important things on his mind than a recruiting interview, but, like his teammate, Victor Thomas, he was kind enough to answer this recruiting writer's standard recruiting questions.

Who's calling him on a consistent basis?

"Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss and Tennessee," said Markeith. "Mississippi State's calling me weekly most of the time."

Any new scholarship offers?

"They are all the same," he said. "I haven't gotten any new offers in a long time."

Just for clarification, he has offers from Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Alabama and Nebraska.

Does he have a top five list of schools?

"I really haven't thought about it, yet," said the standout wide receiver. "I'm going to wait to see who I'm going to visit, first."

As for official visits, he's thinking, but none have been set, yet.

"I really haven't set up any," said the 6-1, 192-pounder. "I really don't know who I will visit, yet."

Will he and his brother, Anthony Summers, be officially visiting Mississippi State on January 20th with their teammate, Victor Thomas? Victor mentioned that they would in an interview that I did earlier in the day.

"We might, but I don't know if it's for sure, yet," said Markeith.

As Markeith sets up his official visits, we'll keep you up-to-date on who the lucky colleges are that will receive them.
