Rory Johnson Has One at the Top

Hinds Community College linebacker Rory Johnson, selected Mississippi's Junior College Player of the Year after leading the state in tackles, has several schools showing interest in him, but one school remains at the top of his list.

And who is this team that is number 1 on his list?

"It is still Mississippi State right now, a little bit," said Rory. "Mississippi State is my school."

They, along with a couple of other schools, are calling him on a regular basis.

"Mississippi State, Ole Miss and LSU are calling me," said Rory, who has offers from all three. "Brick Haley calls me for Mississippi State. He recruited me out of high school. Me and Brick are real close. Coach Hughes calls me from Ole Miss. I'm not sure who is calling me from LSU. I had it in my phone, but my phone got broke."

As for official visits, he has one on his calendar and two more in the planning stages.

"I am going to Mississippi State next weekend (November 25-27)," he noted. "I don't have visits set with Ole Miss and LSU, but I know they will be sometime in January."

Has he given any thought to when he will make his decision?

"I might wait until the last minute like I did last time," said Rory, who is expecting to graduate in May, 2006.
