Dimitri committed to Texas Tech a few months ago. Has anything changed in regard to that commitment?
"It's a soft verbal," said Dimitri, who is now up to 23 to 24 scholarship offers. "There's nothing solid about it. I'm still looking around." And he has been honest with Tech about that fact. "I've told them that."
What schools is he considering?
"Texas Tech, Mississippi State, Colorado and Iowa State," said the 6-3, 268-pounder. "It's Texas Tech, Mississippi State, then Colorado. Texas Tech and Mississippi State are pretty close. Mississippi State is number 2 on my list. (Actually) it's probably 50/50. I'm really undecided right now because I haven't taken my trip to Tech."
He has plans on taking his Texas Tech visit soon.
"I will be at (Texas) Tech next weekend," said Dimitri. "I'm also visiting Arizona and Colorado. I don't know what dates I will visit. They are waiting on my confirmation." He also has Iowa State on his list, but didn't mention if he would take a visit there.
One school that he's already visited is Mississippi State. He talked about his impressions of State after taking the early September visit.
"The visit went real good," he said. "The coaches were real cool. (MSU head) Coach (Sylvester) Croom was real nice. The football team was real cool, a family type thing. I'm pretty serious about them."
What was it about the visit that caused him to become so interested in Mississippi State?
"I like Coach Croom," he noted. "He's played the position (center) that he might put me at. He's also got that experience in the next level, the NFL."
"Yes sir, it will because I will have friends down there," he said. "I won't be myself."
Once he has taken all of his visits, what will be the main criteria he will consider when deciding what college he will sign with?
"How I feel about the coaches and players," said the youngster. "All schools have academics. And it doesn't matter if I play my first year."
