Don Foster Joins Gene's Page as a Feature Writer

Don Foster, the Sports Editor for the Starkville Daily News, has agreed to write regular feature articles for Gene's Page.<P> Don, a well-respected 31-year veteran of the newspaper business who has won several Mississippi Press Association (MPA) awards, started his writing career during his high school days in Jackson, Mississippi.

His first writing job was with Tiger Talk, the student newspaper for the old Jackson Central High School. From there, he wrote for the United States Army as a sports writer. During college, he wrote for the Reflector, the Mississippi State University student newspaper.

Once Don graduated from Mississippi State, he began writing for the Starkville Daily news as a sports writer. He eventually took over the duties of Managing Editor of the newspaper. He later took on the duties of Sports Editor, his current job with the newspaper.
