Lady Dawgs Face FSU Friday on Sun Sports TV

STARKVILLE, Miss. - State is looking to snap a four-game losing streak in its first true road game at Florida State on Friday, Dec. 2 at 4:30 p.m. ET on Sun Sports. MSU most recently fell to in-state rival Southern Miss (64-57), while FSU won its fourth straight in the Seminole Classic championship game vs. Montana (69-56).

Despite the loss to Southern Miss, State has had three players score in double digits for the second time this season. Junior Natasha Henderson, sophomore Miayorka Johnson and freshman Robin Porter have all posted these numbers in the first game of the season vs. Southeastern Louisiana and against Southern Miss. Henderson and Johnson posted career-highs vs. USM. Henderson tallied her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and Johnson tallied 11 points and six rebounds. Freshman guard/forward Robin Porter recorded her first career double-double as well with 11 points and 10 rebounds. This marked the first time that two players recorded a double-double since the 2003-04 season.

Porter leads the Lady Bulldogs with 12.4 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per game. Freshman Lauren Roberts is right behind her with 7.8 points per game and Henderson is averaging 7.6 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game, five games deep in the schedule.

Florida State (4-1) has won four of its last five games, all at home. The victories include over Florida, 82-76, and most recently over Western Carolina, 75-67, and Montana, 69-56, in the Seminole Classic. Freshman center Britany Miller leads the Seminoles with 12.8 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game. Senior guard Ganiyat Adeduntan is also averaging 12.8 ppg and 4.2 rpg. The Seminoles went 24-8 last season and advanced to the NCAA Second Round. FSU returned nine letterwinners, including three starters to the 2005-06 squad.

MSU leads the series with the Seminoles 2-1. All three meetings have been in Tallahassee. FSU took the last meeting on Dec. 1, 1998, 89-62. The Lady Bulldogs are 12-11 vs. the Atlanta Coast Conference. MSU is 1-0 when televised only on the Sun Sports Network, formally Sunshine Network.
