Morgan--Good Works Team Player of the Week

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State senior center Wesley Morgan will be featured this week as the SEC Good Works Team Player of the Week on Jefferson-Pilot's telecasts of Wednesday's Alabama at Auburn game as well as during Saturday's JP doubleheader pitting MSU at Ole Miss and Georgia at South Carolina.

A fifth-year senior from Gallatin, Tenn., Morgan has volunteered his time the past two years working with MSU's Project Impact to assist preschool children with disabilities. He has also volunteered time with the local school system's PAC (Positive Action Classroom) program helping young children with behavioral problems. In addition, Morgan volunteered time this past summer working with children ages 6-14 who are being treated, or have been treated, for cancer at Camp Rising Sun in Columbus. He has also been active in Bully's Bulldog Blitz - Mississippi State's annual reading program.

A three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, Morgan is currently seeking his second undergraduate degree in communication. Having shared the team's Most Improved Player Award with Dietric Slater last year, Morgan was selected as a team co-captain by his teammates prior to the start of the current basketball season. This past off-season, Morgan teamed with other SEC standouts on a goodwill tour of the Far East with the Sports Reach organization.

The SEC sponsors Good Works Teams for football, men's and women's basketball, men's sports at-large, and women's sports at-large. Jefferson-Pilot highlights one member of the SEC Good Works Team for men's basketball during each week of its men's basketball telecasts. This marks the eighth year for the SEC Good Works Team for men's basketball.
