MSU commitment Aaron Feld, who also received scholarship offers from UAB, Marshall, Louisiana-Monroe and strong interest from Vanderbilt, Memphis and Clemson, visited the Mississippi State campus this past weekend and got the chance to meet some of his future teammates. We were able to catch up with Aaron to see how his visit went.
Aaron, how was your visit?
"It was very nice; things went very well."
Who was your player host?
"Blake McAdams, the punter, he is a nice guy. He introduced me to Russell Cook the current deep snapper. We had the chance to visit some. I tell you I never thought I could walk into a huge group of strangers and get along with everybody so well."
Did you get the chance to hang out with any of the other visitors?
"Yes, Mark Melichar from Oak Mountain and Rodney Prince. We hung together a lot and ate a lot. One guy who had been in the national guard and fighting over in Iraq (Timmy Bailey) stood up in front of everybody and said, 'I am going to be a Bulldog, now who else is with me?' I really think he (Timmy Bailey) is going to be a great leader on the football team."
Did the visit exceed your expectations?
"The facilities there are great. I have been to several colleges and MSU's facilities are right up there with all of the big-name schools. The gameday locker room is just beautiful. You walk in and they have the mahogany lockers with all of the equipment laid out. It made me want to suit up and play. The playing surface on the field is second to none. There is no break in the field until you get to the very end. MSU has the best turf I have seen."
