After his visit to Southern Miss last weekend, Keith verbally committed to the Golden Eagles. He explained why.
"I've verbally committed to Southern Miss, but I only made the one visit," said the 6-3, 200-pounder who has only played football for two years. "I want the opportunity to visit another school and check it out."
Why did he decide to visit Mississippi State?
"I chose Mississippi State because they recruited me very hard," said Keith, who has offers from Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss, UL-M and Northwestern (LA) and also received interest from Arkansas. "They came in and liked me. (MSU head) Coach (Sylvester) Croom came and visited me at the house and I like him. And I like (MSU assistant) Coach (J.B.) Grimes. Mississippi State was interested in me, so I've stayed interested in them."
Football is not the only sport he excels in.
"I run track, too," he said. "I run the 4x4, 4x1 and I triple jump. I was ranked number 11 in the nation in the triple jump. I jumped 47-7. That was my first year to ever jump. I want to run track in college."
He will decide Sunday who he wants to play football and run track for.
"I am going to make my decision Sunday when I get back home," said Keith.
We'll report his decision immediately after he contacts us.
